Forage for Color

Walk the land, collect and learn about local Hudson Valley plant material to use as a pigment. Bring home knowledge of the plants around you and naturally dye a silk or cotton scarf, or vintage garment to add to wardrobe or use as an altar cloth.

Open to all levels, 3 hours. 125$ ea. Group of 6 $660.

All materials provided.

In this class we will go on a 45 minute hike around the True North property, collecting plant material from the forests, pond, fields and wetlands to bring back to the studio and make color. We will make small samples and recipes from all of the material we collect as well as dye your choice of a 24” x 24” silk or cotton scarf.

The hike can be adjusted depending upon the participants and weather. Private bookings available on site or at your land for groups of 3 or more. Please reach out to Hanouxdesign@gmail.com with all inquiries.
